Yes, an alternate may attend six (6) times per year, and never more than two (2) consecutive meetings. You will be responsible to explain the policies and procedures to your alternate. Attendance policies will still apply.

How will I be notified if the meeting is cancelled that week?2023-07-27T08:57:18-07:00

You will receive a 24-hour notice via email from the Membership Coordinator or the Chairperson. If you have invited guests, you must inform guests to notify you when they plan to attend the meeting to avoid having them show up if the meeting has been canceled. We will also attempt to put up signs at the location that it has been canceled. However, it is your responsibility to call the Membership Coordinator or the Chairperson if there is any confusion on whether a meeting has been canceled. Meetings will most likely be canceled during school closures or delays.

Sources networking meetings start promptly at 8:15 am and end at 9:15 am. If you missed your turn on the agenda to present, you will not be able to present. Attendance at these meetings is crucial so that the group gets to know you and your business better. It only hurts you if you do not attend. If you know that you will not be able to attend, you must contact the Attendance Coordinator before the meeting. After 2 unexcused absences, you will receive a reminder phone call before the next meeting from the Membership Coordinator to assess your status. After a third unexcused absence, you will receive a phone call and letter from the Membership Coordinator terminating your membership. No refunds on membership fees will be issued.

Once a member of Sources, am I confined to conducting business only with other Sources members?2019-10-15T20:24:58-07:00

Your fellow Sources members are your best business references, as you are theirs. Member loyalty to each other will enable the group to successfully refer and continue to grow every year. Think of yourself as a SALES FORCE for Sources and Sources as a SALES FORCE for your business. Remember, the purpose of this group is to expand our businesses through networking and referrals.

Are members supposed to bring visitors?2019-10-22T11:45:37-07:00

Yes. You are required to bring visitors who are seeking membership, provided that occupation is open. The requirement is at least one guest per month. We do welcome any visitor (ie: spouse, someone new to the area), however, if their occupation conflicts with a member occupation, they may not speak about their business, nor will they be eligible to join. They can introduce themselves and give a reason for their visit. The member who brings the most guests each quarter will receive a $10 gift card from Dutch Brothers. If several members actively invite the same person and that person attends the meeting each member who invited that person can count that as their guest for the month. The Attendance and Referral Coordinator will keep track of all guests invited to our meetings and will be announcing the winners on a quarterly basis. A spreadsheet is also provided at the weekly meeting for tracking referrals.

You are required to give at least 2 referrals per month. This will be tracked by the Referral Coordinator. If you are not caught up, you will receive a written reminder, and if you are still not caught up by the end of the following month, you may be asked to leave the group. No refunds on member dues will be issued. Remember, the purpose of this group is to expand our business through networking and referrals. This will be stressed weekly.

The purpose of the group is to expand our businesses. Networking and passing referrals is a must for SOURCES to survive. The involvement and commitment of each member is important to the success of SOURCES. Each member is expected to give a minimum of two referrals per month to remain in the group. These numbers are tracked on a weekly basis. It is the responsibility of the referring member to ensure that their numbers are tracked accurately. If the minimum requirement is not kept, a written reminder will be delivered as the first notification. If expectations are still not met, a verbal reminder will be made. If the issue is still not resolved, the member may be asked to leave the group.

The member being referred to determines what counts or does not count as a referral; Typically, once a referral is made and the member connects with that lead, the connection constitutes a referral. When a Sources member is referring themselves to another Sources member, money must exchange hands for the referral to count. An online referral form must be fully filled out, which will notify both parties (and the referral tracker) about the referral.

At application process, then on January 1st there after on a yearly basis. The Sources Board establishes the amount for membership dues. There are no paid positions or profits involved, only the actual operating costs.

Membership dues are $200 annually. This fee is based on operational costs covering publicity and marketing, community service projects, and meeting space.

The member who invited you will call you to invite you back to the group. A letter or email from the Chairperson will follow after your application is reviewed and voted upon.

If the majority of the group decides that the applicant will be a good fit for the group, the applicant will be invited back to their 3rd meeting. We will evaluate any potential business conflicts before the person is invited back.

Each guest may attend two meetings before making a decision to join. Application and member dues should be turned in to Heidi Garrett if you want to request membership.

We only take one member per professional specialty. For example, if we already have a residential real estate person and you are also one, we could not accept your membership. If you are a commercial realtor, you could be eligible to join Sources. We just want to make sure there is no conflict with any of the Sources members.

Sources started meeting in 2003 with two business owners getting together once a week and grew into the diverse, dynamic group it is today.

At each meeting, every member has 1-2 minutes to introduce themselves and what they have to offer and share something about your business and what is a good referral for you.

Each week, there will also be one presenter who will give a 10-15 minute business presentation. Feel free to bring presentation aids or products. The presenters are placed on a rotation schedule. If it is your turn to present, you may opt to have someone come in to be a guest speaker, which may or may not pertain to your business.

Examples of possible topics would be networking skills, leadership, identity theft, presentation skills, etc.
